Direct Entry Stream
OVERVIEW
This stream suits skilled workers outside Australia or those not eligible for the transition stream.
What Employers Must Do:
Be a legally operating Australian business.
Offer a full-time job for at least the required minimum period of employment required.
The role must be on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).
Pay at least the minimum salary per year or the market rate, whichever is higher.
What Applicants Must Meet:
Be under 45 years old.
Have the required years of relevant full-time work experience.
Hold a positive skills assessment.
Meet English proficiency and health/character requirements.
Temporary Residence Transition Stream
OVERVIEW
Ideal for those already working in Australia on a 457 or 482 visa and have been with their current employer for at least 2 years.
What Employers Must Do:
Continue to operate legally in Australia.
Offer a full-time job for the required number of years Pay at least the minimum annual salary required or match the market rate for the occupation.
What Applicants Must Meet:
Hold a 457 or 482 visa and have worked full-time for 2 years with the sponsoring employer.
Be under 45 years old.
Have competent English.
Meet licensing requirements.
Pass health and character checks.
